The Crystal Foundation was founded in 1993 as a means of pursuing our dream to bring reconstructive surgery to children of families who do not have alternate means. The foundation was initially designed to fund our Children of Mexico Project, but the scope of the foundation has been broadened to provide care for the less fortunate children in the United States as well. It is our desire that children with congenital malformations do not have to live their lives with disabling deformities. Most of our surgeries are performed to correct cleft lip and palate as well as congenital hand deformities, allowing affected children to lead normal lives.
The Mexican government and Rotary have provided a clinic for our use in Guerrero, Mexico. Our core surgical team consists of three plastic surgeons, three anesthesia professional, several nurses and assistants, and a biomedic technician. Through the Crystal Foundation these dedicated men and women make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
The Crystal Foundation collects tax-deductible funds from contributions that are used to promote surgery for these disadvantaged children. Financial contributions are also used to purchase materials that we are unable to obtain through donations.
Most medications, surgical equipment and other supplies are donated by Dr. Yarish’s Surgery Center, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and physicians in the Houston area, as well as the Brazosport Rotary Club.
Every dollar you donate will effect on the life of a disadvantaged child.
