Liposuction is a procedure that sculpts your body to remove unwanted pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Some of the areas that we commonly treat are the hips, arms, thighs, saddlebags and love handles. At Yarish Plastic Surgery, Dr. Yarish can perform the surgery alone or combine it with a facelift, tummy tuck or another popular cosmetic procedure.
Contact Yarish Plastic Surgery today to schedule a consultation at either our Lake Jackson or Houston areas and achieve your aesthetic goals through liposuction.
Liposuction at Yarish Plastic Surgery
There are multiple techniques to remove excess fat from the body through liposuction, but generally, the fat is removed through a thin, hollow tube called a cannula. Two of the most common methods we use at our Lake Jackson and Houston practices are tumescent liposuction and ultrasonic-assisted liposuction.
During tumescent liposuction, we use a local anesthetic and a wetting solution to constrict your blood vessels. This option allows us to remove fat from your body in a way that minimizes blood loss and postsurgical pain. We commonly use the ultrasonic technique on areas with dense tissue, such as the chest or upper abdomen. This technique also helps treat love handles, outer thighs, hips and the upper back.
Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction?
To qualify for this procedure, you must meet our health qualifications and have realistic aesthetic expectations. You must be healthy with no contraindicating medical conditions before we can perform the procedure. Other deciding factors include:
- You have a localized area of fatty accumulation that is disproportionate from the rest of your body.
- You want your figure to have more definition and a smoother contour.
- You are physically fit, and your weight is stable.
- You have good skin elasticity.
The Recovery Process
Some mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort may persist for a few weeks after this procedure, which can be easily controlled through prescription medication and aftercare instructions provided to you by Dr. Yarish. For men and women who qualify, liposuction typically does not carry any post-surgical complications or extensive recovery time. Dr. Yarish will monitor your healing through follow-up appointments to ensure the best results.
At Yarish Plastic Surgery, we want to maximize your results with minimal downtime, and all of our surgical plans are customized to the individual. To learn more about the process and to schedule a consultation, please contact us today at our Lake Jackson or Houston locations.

At Yarish Plastic Surgery, we believe that skin and body rejuvenation is an evolutionary process that does not begin and end solely with the surgery itself.
While we do know that surgery is the most dramatic and gratifying part of the rejuvenation process, Dr. Yarish is also convinced that we can enhance and even maximize your surgery results with our “comprehensive rejuvenation concept”. This concept is essentially a treatment plan specifically designed for each procedure in order to prepare the skin and body for surgery and to aid the healing process following your surgery.
We do recognize that many people do not have the time or inclination to take advantage of the compete program, and we want to assure you that your surgical results will be the best attainable anywhere. However, if you are in a position to take advantage of the “comprehensive rejuvenation concept,” you will find the entire experience to be more relaxing, and you will know that you have treated yourself to the most unique and gratifying experience that plastic surgery has to offer. And you will know that you have availed yourself of the ultimate in skin and body rejuvenation.
In order to make this experience more convenient and affordable, we have created a combination of ultimate experience packages specifically tailored to enhance each procedure. Dr. Yarish strongly recommends that you take advantage of this “comprehensive rejuvenation concept.” The program outlined for you will be instituted pre-operatively, and will be continued post-operatively until healing is complete.
